Electrical Engineer

Location: Albany, NY

Friedman Fisher Associates, P.C. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for producing construction plans, specifications, and other technical documents, as well as supporting project delivery from concept through construction.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented engineer with strong time management skills and the ability to resolve engineering challenges in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Apply a broad understanding of electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution,
emergency power, fire alarm, audio/visual, and telecom.
Prepare and develop construction documents and specifications.
Communicate design concepts and technical results effectively with engineers, management, and clients.
Participate actively in internal and external design reviews.
Analyze reports, studies, drawings, maps, and other project data.
Conduct site visits to verify and document project conditions.
Coordinate and correspond with clients, agencies, and contractors.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of electrical engineering/design experience preferred.

Engineering-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
Proficiency in the design of lighting, power distribution, emergency power, fire alarm,
audio/visual, and telecom systems.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with
colleagues, clients, architects, and subconsultants.
