Lake George Visitor Center

Scope:
Design of a highly visible, ADA-accessible visitor center at the crossroads of Lake George Village. The timber-frame Adirondack–style building was designed for maximum visibility, accessibility, and year-round use.
Key Features:
  • Visitor Experience: Staffed information center, interpretive displays, and large public restrooms designed for heavy seasonal use.
  • HVAC & Energy: Exposed and concealed ductwork, energy recovery ventilators, and tailored lighting design for different spaces.
  • Durability: Stainless steel fixtures, vandal-resistant lighting, and extra-heavy-duty carriers for high-traffic use.
  • Service Access: Extra-large chases and a fully accessible basement for complete plumbing access.
Outcome:

Created a welcoming, high-traffic community facility that highlights the region’s history and tourism while withstanding heavy seasonal use.
