Old Forge Arts Center

Scope:
Design and construction of the Old Forge Arts and Interpretive Center, a 30,000 sq. ft. facility combining new construction with adaptive reuse of an existing garage. The center includes art galleries, studios, a 200-seat auditorium, classrooms, retail space, and a visitor information center.
Key Features:
  • Sustainability: Achieved LEED™ Silver certification.
  • HVAC: Geothermal system with 48 boreholes at 260 feet, serving water-to-air and water-to-water heat pumps for comfort and domestic hot water.
  • Energy Efficiency: Energy recovery ventilators, programmed lighting controls, and a 20 kW photovoltaic system prominently displayed on site.
  • Design Integration: Mixed-use layout with galleries, studios, commercial kitchen, Eco Gallery, and artist housing.
Outcome:

Combined sustainable design with community use, delivering a LEED Silver-certified facility that serves as both an arts hub and a model of environmental stewardship.
