SUNY New Paltz – Crispell Hall and LeFevre Hall Renovations

Scope:
SUNY New Paltz renovated Crispell Hall (2011) and LeFevre Hall (2014), transforming outdated dormitories into modern suite-style living spaces with lounges and private bathrooms. A third dormitory, Bevier Hall, followed with similar upgrades.
Key Features:
  • Mechanical Systems: New hydronic heating and cooling systems, energy recovery ventilation, and air conditioning in Resident Advisor apartments.
  • Electrical/Lighting: Complete electrical distribution replacement; energy-efficient lighting; building-wide wireless data system.
  • Safety/Security: Fully addressable fire alarm system and card-access security integrated with campus standards.
  • Sustainability: Both projects achieved LEED Gold certification.
Outcome:

The renovations reconfigured 1960s-era dorms into 200 modern student beds, improving comfort, privacy, and energy efficiency while extending the life of the campus housing.
