SUNY New Paltz – New Dormitory

Scope:
This new 200-bed dormitory on the SUNY New Paltz campus is a 63,000 SF facility designed with sustainable systems and targeting LEED Silver certification. The building includes three levels of residential space, a partial basement for building services, and a pitched metal roof with integrated energy recovery systems.
Key Features:
  • Mechanical Systems: Two-pipe changeover fan coil system with chilled water from a split system chiller; high-temp hot water distribution for heating; energy recovery air handling units.
  • Electrical/Data: High-voltage electrical service with 3-phase transformer; building-wide wireless system; LED lighting for interiors and site.
  • Safety/Security: Fully addressable fire alarm system integrated into campus loop; door access control tied into existing proximity card system.

Delivered a modern, energy-efficient residence hall that enhances campus living with reliable comfort, safety, and technology infrastructure.
