Mechanical Engineer

Location: Albany, NY

Friedman Fisher Associates, P.C. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for producing construction plans, specifications, and other technical documents, as well as supporting project delivery from concept through construction.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented engineer with strong time management skills and the ability to resolve engineering challenges in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Apply a broad understanding of MEP systems, with a thorough knowledge of building-related mechanical systems such as HVAC and controls.
  • Prepare and develop construction documents and specifications.
  • Communicate design concepts and technical results effectively with engineers, management, and clients.
  • Participate actively in internal and external design reviews.
  • Analyze reports, studies, drawings, maps, photos, and other project data.
  • Conduct site visits to verify and document project conditions.
  • Coordinate and correspond with clients, agencies, and contractors.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering/design experience required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Proficiency in HVAC and control systems design.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients, architects, and subconsultants.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation will be commensurate with education, experience, skills, and location. Annual raises and performance-based year-end bonuses are part of our compensation structure.
